Steel City NDT is a certified partner of 811. 811 is a national call-before-you-dig phone number that you need to call to request the approximate location of buried utilities. The utilities are marked with flags or paint to prevent you from damaging the utilities while digging on your property.

811 should be called, or you can use your state’s 811 center website a few days before digging, even for a basic project such as installing a mailbox or planting trees. Before calling 811, be sure to have the address of where you plan to dig, including your county and the closest cross street, the type of project you plan to complete, and your exact digging area.
