LEAK DETECTION

For leak detection, we at Steel City NDT LLC are capable of utilizing acoustic sensors in order to detect leaks in various situations. A major advantage to this equipment is that it is non-invasive. Acoustic sensors allow us to detect changes in the background noise of the surrounding environment to listen to the escaping substance. Leaks that could be potentially dangerous can quickly be located and scoped out using our equipment.

We are capable of performing leak detection in various areas which include, but are not limited to:

• Industrial plants
• Refineries
• Waste water plants
• Residences
• Construction sites

The equipment we use for leak detection is capable of drowning out any and all background noise related to wind, engines, and machinery in order to get the best sound possible. With our inspection method, we are capable of detecting the exact location of the leak in an underground setting, eliminating the need for excessive digging to spot the problem. Should the exact location of a pipeline in question not be known, Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), can be used in unison with leak detection.
